Dining In



Our busy lives often have us eating on the run. It may even have us eating alone or in front of the television.  Dining is a life experience, but so many of us treat it as a special occasion. Why not make it your normal. Dining is a time for us to bond and discussed each others lives over nourishment.


The only difference between casual and formal dining is the amount of utensils and courses you have. We learn how to set the table, table etiquette and manners from dining at home. There is no such thing as dining out manners, home is just your practice platform. If you have two dining area in your home, use them both. We eat in our formal dining room every Sunday. It changes the environment and makes dining a little more interesting. If you only have one dining area, create a different tablescapes every so often.

 
Here are a few simple tips to make yours more memorable:
  • Use decor that stimulates the appetite. Reds, green and yellow are great!
  • Make it the room cozy and welcoming. Upholstered chairs are more comfortable.
  • Add fresh flowers for a beautiful pick me up.
  • Lighting is one of the most important features of a dining room. Install a dimmer switch to achieve different moods. 
  • Rectangular tables are more suited for gathering people, as well as providing space for serving dishes and plates.
  • The round table is good for informal dining.
  • Purchasing tables with extendable leaves and a few extra chairs on hand is great large gatherings.
  • Furniture pieces such as buffets and credenzas offer additional space for serving dishes, desserts and other dining accessories during the meal.
  • It you live alone invite a friend every now or than.
